The Trail Masons were incorporated in July of 2009 as a not for profit in the state of Kansas. Prior to the formation of the Trail Masons, we had been working with the Wyandotte County Parks and Recreation Department to improve trails at Wyandotte County Lake Park for approximately three years as part of the Trail Nerds (local trail running club). In addition to trail building and maintenance, other early activity included trash and invasive plant removal within the park. In July of 2009 a small group of trail runners decided to create the Trail Masons to focus efforts and energy primarily on developing additional single track and assisting with maintaining existing trails in Wyandotte County Lake Park.
